Europe Accelerates Autonomous Production of Critical Raw Materials with "European Magnesium" Project Progress

Following the global supply chain crisis, Europe has accelerated its efforts to achieve autonomous production of critical raw materials. The "European Magnesium" project initiated by MFE GmbH in Bosnia and Herzegovina has achieved phased progress, having completed laboratory and pilot-scale tests, and obtained international certification. The project has accelerated since obtaining the raw material mining rights in 2020, aiming to rebuild the European magnesium supply chain. Industry insiders have stated that this marks a significant step forward for Europe in the field of critical raw materials, effectively alleviating external dependencies.
